LIBS measures nearly all elements with minimal sample preparation!
Insight™ and Zap™ systems for real-time benchtop and at-line elemental analysis
Repeatable LIBS elemental
analysis using a laser plasma requires full control over the many factors influencing LIBS: breakdown position, energy density on the sample, environment, light collection,
spectrometer timing, etc. The Insight™ and Crossfire™ systems are designed to bring you the full control you need with a single- or double-pulse LIBS configuration. On-board video, laser timing, spectrometer timing and software control of laser spot size are only a few of the standard features of Photon Machines' LIBS plasma spectroscopy systems.
Insight™ systems allow microanalysis, with ablation spot sizes as small as 5 micrometers, and can utilize a broadband echelle spectrometer coupled to
an intensified camera for sensitive detection of multiple elements in a
single laser shot.
| IR or UV Insight™ |
|
The workhorse of the laboratory, the new, top-of-the-line Insight™ is optimized for microanalysis. Available with 1064 nm or 266 nm laser wavelengths, the UV system yields LIBS spot sizes as small as 5 micrometers. Detection using either a broadband echelle spectrometer with a high-sensitivity intensified CCD camera means high dynamic range and
excellent sensitivity, allowing elemental associations to be determined in a single laser shot. This system can also be outfitted with amultichannel CCD array spectrometer. Standard features include industrial-grade computer-controlled stages for autosampling and method programming, integrated video for analysis control, and real-time spectral display. Laser and spectrometer pulse timing, lighting, and ventilation are all included, as well as options for purged cells.
The Insight™ is controlled by the same Chromium™ software that runs our laser ablation systems, and ports spectra to
Photon's addLIBS™ analysis software, where spectral exploration and development of quantitative analysis methods is made easy. Powerful chemometric software is also available.

Machines' engineers can configure solutions for a variety of
measuremnet scenarios using our standard components to interface with your system. In the field, our uniquely-designed auto-focus can deliver consistent energy on-target for greater accuracy and precision. The on-board
analysis and control system can be interfaced with existing process control and engineering analysis systems. System control may be accomplished through an embedded real-time computer system. Specialized LIBS algorithms interpret detector signals, track abundances of elements, and correct for matrix effects. |

| Industrial solutions |
|
| Essentially every element
that is interesting from an industrial perspective has
been measured using LIBS. Proper interpretation of LIBS spectra can yield concentration trends and ratios of chosen elements to provide invaluable process information. Better quality control on batch and continuous processes results in improved products and greater process efficiency. The Trakker™ series of industrial LIBS instruments are
rugged LIBS instruments designed for the field. In dust- and
weather-proof housings, these systems provide 24/7 analysis
capabilities with interfaces to control software and/or direct
connection to your existing control systems. Trakker™ instruments can be calibrated in the field using the same algorithms found in our addLIBS™ software. |
